Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a sleepy community on this part of the island of Montreal called"the West Island. This West Island, to those who have never heard of it, is a vast area that extends from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently cited, however her short time in the city was not. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. She wanted to become professional, however because of a huge growth spurt she outgrew all of her dancing partners. According to an article in the Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as six feet and one inch tall. After I became too big for my male partners I stopped. A lot of former dancers go on into acting. In Brugel's situation, it was a suggestion from the drama instructor at her high school who encouraged her to go in that direction. Her teacher invited her to try out for roles in the school's production. The teacher who suggested she go after a role in the school's annual show. After receiving the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. For the past twenty years, Brugel's roles in the world of television and on the screen have been numerous. The role of Rita from the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most notable. Brugel was the character Rita in the Handmaid's Tale, a series that was filmed over ten years ago.
